Does anyone know Dell D610 has the option to have a verizon evdo card built in? Does anyone know Dell D610 has the option to have a verizon evdo card built in. If they do were do you get a mini pci card from?
How do I bridge a network connection between a dial-up and LAN? I'm trying to get 2 laptops using my Verizon EVDO card. I have the ZyXEL G-220 v2 which will allow my computer to be a Soft Access Point, however, it wants to bridge only with the "Lan or High-Speed Internet" connections and doesn't allow me to bridge with my Dial-Up NationalAccess -BroadbandAccess" connection. Is there a way to create that bridge or re-classify the Verizon connection? The best solution would be software to use my built in wireless card as the soft access point and allow the bridge to the evdo card.
What speed do you get with a EVDO card? What speed do you get with your EVDO card (wireless internet from a cellular provider)? Please include theaverage download speed, your carrier (Sprint, Verizon, etc.), and your location?
How fast is 3G CDMA EvDO internet? I am thinking of getting a PC card for my laptop.? How are the speeds on the pc cards for laptops and PCs? I think Verizon offers 3G CDMA EvDo.
A sales person at Verizon tells me that I can get EVDO speed to my laptop using a LG-V and a usb cable,TRUE? Is this true, and if so why would I want a pc card when I would have to pay more. Also when I approach Sprint they say this is not possible through a usb cable. However they say it is possible through a treo 650 using its bluetooth connection for an additional 20 bucks. neither company provides specifics on the web.
Is Verizon aircard comparable to Cox? Ok, so here I am trying to save my family some cash. I was thinking getting rid of Cox, and using my Verizon air card (usb727) w/ a Kyocera KR2 EVDO Router, to be able to connect my home pc and laptop @ home. Then take the card w/ me when on the go. We do a lot of live internet auctions, so I need a reliable connection. How realistic is my idea? How fast will my Verizon connection be compared to Cox Internet? Will it be reliable? It doesn't have to be super fast, we don't have Cox's highest price plan, and Verizon's air card speed is fine. We worry using the router will slow it down considerably. Any advice, thoughts, experiences will be greatly appreciated!
Does anyone know whether a PCMCIA card interface or USB 2 interface is faster for a Broadband wireless modem? Have a PCMCIA now and must upgrade to Express slot on new laptop. Don't want to run into compatibility issues so considering USB2 option for Verizon EVDO RevA network. I specifically need to know whether a VERIZON Wireless PCMCIA Broadband wireless card will be any faster than the USB2 version they offer. I prefer the USB2 due to flexibility - i.e. does not matter whether laptop has standard PCMCIA or Express Slot....it will work. My only concern is speed of the two interfaces and whether one is superior to the other.
Where is Verizons wireless internet available? You know the one where you put a card in your laptop and you dont have to worry about wi-fi .. Is there a link where i can see availability? If your verizon phone gets EVDO coverage (for V Cast) does that mean the wireless internet is available too?

How best to cope with intermittent network disconnections when d/ling torrents? using ubuntu 8.10 transmission torrent client verizon wireless broadband rev a (regular sized pc card into kyocera kr1 router) often, the evdo side of the connection (which is converted to wifi by my router) loses acess to the evdo network. this causes loss of acess to trackers and slow d/l speeds once connection is reestablished. should i a)just wait 20 mins for the tracker to update? b)pause or stop and restart the torrent? c)hammer away d)something else I'm in the middle of about 50 other wireless access points and many other sources of interference so i'm thinking it might be causing the disconnects. Oh and plus i lost the wifi antenna (but that is NOT the cause/iam losing the evdo part only not wifi). i need to know what is the best thing to do when it does disconnect and lose the trackers. This is a technical question about how torrent trackers handle lost connections of peers. when a connection is lost (foe whatever reason) what is the most efficient step to take next that will get you back in rotation with the tracker and leeching/seeding back at the same speed as before the interruption?

How harmful/wrong would it be to use my 3G data card in an airplane? Ok, so I'm going on a pretty long coast to coast flight few weeks and I know that no cell phones or other communication devices are allowed on planes however what would honestly happen if I use my Sprint 3G Data card during the flight? I would assume if a flight attendant saw it they would tell me to take it off but what if I connected to my Verizon 3G phone via bluetooth to my computer. This way the connection would not be visible to the naked eye but then comes in the whole interfering with the aircraft... I remember reading that interference only occurs at certain MHz...I believe it is in the 400-800 range and I'm pretty sure that an EVDO 3G connection does not fall in this category. I dont want to risk something drastic such as seriously interfering with things vital to the air craft staying in air but do you really think using a 3G card to check some email is a huge risk? I mean if it was don't you think that TSA would be doing more to stop this because if it really did bring planes down what's to say a group of terrorist wouldn't just start going on planes with mobile phones and data cards in the hopes to bring it down. Just a thought. Looking for some opinions and maybe personal experience with this :) Thank you!! --Anthony Just an added bit, I think i remember reading that in the UK it is not against the law to use mobile communications during flight....
Need help sharing my connection with my Wii.? I connect to the internet through Verizon mobile broadband. I have a PCI card that has Rev-A and EVDO technology. I also have a built in WWAN device that is not in use. I also have a traditional ethernet port. Well the way i would have done it would be use a crossover cable to the Wii like I did my Xbox 360 but the Wii has no jack. Can I use my WWAN card in my laptop to share my connection with the Wii? If so, how? I use Windows XP Pro. I do not own a wireless router or a Wii USB Wifi card, but I believe there should be a way for me to create an access point with what I have.
