EVDO Card? Please help ASAP? Where can I find an EVDO card? I have looked but don't know where else I could look. It's the card that you can install on your computer that picks up signals from cell phone towers. Is there another name I need to look under? Thanks in advance!
How to connect and surf on two laptops with a single BSNL EVDO card? I have a laptop with Vista (with Bluetooth and WiFi) and another with windows XP. Also, have a bluetooth dongle. Qus: 1. How can i access internet on both of the laptops simultaneously? 2. The cord with EVDO is double headed i.e. one side with two ends to connect to USB port and one side to connect to EVDO card. So if I connect both the ends to two different laptops...will i be able to access the Internet on both laptops? Best answer will be awarded :-) (of course with points)
I have a an active EVDO Broadband PC Card for my Laptop and I use it. I wanted to mount it in the car. Safe? My dad tells me its a real bad idea. I have a newer Pontiac Sunfire. I wand to get one of those laptop mounts. I found it on EBay for $25.00 . I figured I could use it between the long drives between home and college in the fall so I can talk on AIM and check my E-Mail as well as surf the net while driving. I kinda use it right now while driving but its real hard without a mount. I usually just load up streaming radio like yahoo and play it through my stereo. My dad says its extremely unsafe. Hesays that being he also feel I am a bad driver and never pay attention to the road in the first place, that this is real bad news. Just because I have had my license 2 years and have been in 3 accidents and recieved one Unsafe Operation ticket does not mean I am a bad driver! I called the police. They said state law prohibits TVs in a drivers views, but excluded GPS equipment and laptops. So does anybody else see a problem with this. As usual, I think my parents are overreacting. I'm 18 BTW

Is it possible to make calls on your laptop using a 3g gsm express card? I would like to get a GSM card (or evdo) for my laptop and was wondering if I can get a phone number assigned to it and use it like a cell phone. Thanks! I do not want to use skype because it consistently makes my computer crash and it is not the most reliable service because it requires a strong internet connection at all times.

Improving EVDO speeds? I have a sprint EVDO card and I was wondering if there is any way to improve its connection or speed. I have heard about people with the wireless routers for them. Does that weaken the speed or make it faster? What are the best settings for online gaming?
How do I bridge a network connection between a dial-up and LAN? I'm trying to get 2 laptops using my Verizon EVDO card. I have the ZyXEL G-220 v2 which will allow my computer to be a Soft Access Point, however, it wants to bridge only with the "Lan or High-Speed Internet" connections and doesn't allow me to bridge with my Dial-Up NationalAccess -BroadbandAccess" connection. Is there a way to create that bridge or re-classify the Verizon connection? The best solution would be software to use my built in wireless card as the soft access point and allow the bridge to the evdo card.
Problem with BSNL EVDO Card? I have purchased EVDO card last month. Earlier it was working properly but now when i connected it my system automatic shut down showing blue screen of dumping physical memory. what will be problem.

How harmful/wrong would it be to use my 3G data card in an airplane? Ok, so I'm going on a pretty long coast to coast flight few weeks and I know that no cell phones or other communication devices are allowed on planes however what would honestly happen if I use my Sprint 3G Data card during the flight? I would assume if a flight attendant saw it they would tell me to take it off but what if I connected to my Verizon 3G phone via bluetooth to my computer. This way the connection would not be visible to the naked eye but then comes in the whole interfering with the aircraft... I remember reading that interference only occurs at certain MHz...I believe it is in the 400-800 range and I'm pretty sure that an EVDO 3G connection does not fall in this category. I dont want to risk something drastic such as seriously interfering with things vital to the air craft staying in air but do you really think using a 3G card to check some email is a huge risk? I mean if it was don't you think that TSA would be doing more to stop this because if it really did bring planes down what's to say a group of terrorist wouldn't just start going on planes with mobile phones and data cards in the hopes to bring it down. Just a thought. Looking for some opinions and maybe personal experience with this :) Thank you!! --Anthony Just an added bit, I think i remember reading that in the UK it is not against the law to use mobile communications during flight....
Followon to my orginal question concerning EVDO and VOIP? I understand that yes you can get a cradlepoint router to use - inserting the evdo card in the router and then using a laptop and phone box or whatever - but is there a way of using the evdo card in hte laptop and then using an ethernet cable or some other way from the laptop to a phone box? Is there a way of using the laptop computer as the "router"? I just want to use an EVDO card for internet on my computer and connection to a phone box for VOIP using AT&T CallVantage.
Is 3G datacard same as EVDO ? I have heard that BSNL has started both 3G and EVDO. In some cities BSNL has started providing these services. If I am primarily a laptop user, would 3G data card and EVDO mean same to me ? Which one will be convenient and faster?

Does anyone know whether a PCMCIA card interface or USB 2 interface is faster for a Broadband wireless modem? Have a PCMCIA now and must upgrade to Express slot on new laptop. Don't want to run into compatibility issues so considering USB2 option for Verizon EVDO RevA network. I specifically need to know whether a VERIZON Wireless PCMCIA Broadband wireless card will be any faster than the USB2 version they offer. I prefer the USB2 due to flexibility - i.e. does not matter whether laptop has standard PCMCIA or Express Slot....it will work. My only concern is speed of the two interfaces and whether one is superior to the other.
My laptop will not detect my express wireless internet card anymore, any ideas to fix it? I've been using a kyocera kpc680 express evdo internet card for about 3 months now and all of a sudden it stopped working. It just would not connect to the internet. I reinstalled the software and card and now i'm faced with a different problem. My computer doesnt detect the card when it is inserted into the express slot. I use a dell inspiron 1501 with vista and its worked fine for awhile now. The software is loaded fine, but its interface still says there is "no card detected" , and a pop-up from windows appears and it says "trying to install wireless modem". Any ideas or solutions? Thanks in advance.
how is BSNL wireless data card data rate in Bangalore? I purchased a Kyocera KR1 router but it is not supported any longer. I'm willing to use one of my notebooks as a wireless router, how would I go about that? Doesn't Ad-Hoc only allow for 1 connection? Or is there another router that would work for me? I'm trying to have this be my primary ISP so that I can get away from my Sat. Internet. Thanks to everyone who answers!

connecting my nintedo DS to wi-fi in my car? "YES!! You can get an EVDO card from your cell phone provider that will allow you to have internet access from anywhere you can get a cell signal. It is comparable to DSL. You will get a card that fits into the PC card slot on your laptop. Then you will need a USB dongle that does wifi. You will be able to access Nintendo WI-Fi that way." Thanks
Where is Verizons wireless internet available? You know the one where you put a card in your laptop and you dont have to worry about wi-fi .. Is there a link where i can see availability? If your verizon phone gets EVDO coverage (for V Cast) does that mean the wireless internet is available too?
